Abstract:
Topology is one of the crucial mathematical languages that describes the original spatial properties retained by objects under continuous deformations such as stretching, bending, and twisting. In the field of polymer science, topology is gradually emerging as a novel approach for the preparation of new materials and the modulation of material properties. Therefore, we will delve into the concept of "the power of topology in emerging material science," emphasizing how to leverage the complex geometry and connectivity features of polymers to design innovative materials with distinct characteristics. Through topological control, we can tailor the optical, electrical, thermal, and mechanical properties of new materials. Furthermore, we look forward to its novel considerations in addressing global plastic pollution.
